Our Vision
Pueri Publications is dedicated to helping children grow in their love for Our Lord and the Faith by delving into the Sacred Music patrimony of the Catholic Church. The name Pueri is taken from the famous Palm Sunday chant Pueri Hebræorum, meaning 'the children of the Hebrews'.
We believe that the importance of musical education for children is indispensable and irreplaceable. To this end, we have combined a love for musical pedagogy with a need for children's resources teaching them about Our Lord and the Faith through a musical medium.
Children love to learn, to sing, to ask "why?", and to be involved. Through a selection of interactive and reading books, Pueri Publications provides opportunities for children to engage with their Catholic heritage at an age appropriate level. St Augustine said that 'he who sings well, prays twice' - is there a better way to help children to pray than by teaching them to sing the Liturgy, to sing their prayers, to sing 'hosanna to the Son of David'?

Born in Sydney, Australia in 1991, Ronan attended primary school at St Jospeh’s, Belmore (1995-2001) and high school at St Mary’s Cathedral College (2002-2009). During his time at the Cathedral College, Ronan was enlisted in the Choral Scholarship Program of the St Mary’s Cathedral Choir. This weekly commitment involved ten hours of singing & rehearsing during school term. During this time, Ronan also learnt to play the violoncello.
Ronan graduated with a Bachelor of Theology at Notre Dame University, Sydney in 2014. From 2009-2016 Ronan was a member of the Schola Cantorum of the Holy Cross at Maternal Heart of Mary Church, Lewisham. From 2016-2021 Ronan was Director of Music at St Philomena School in Brisbane, Australia.
In 2018, Ronan founded the Jubilate Deo Programme to teach Catholics (students, young adults, parishioners, and clergy) a core and foundational repertoire of sacred music. As of 2024, the Programme is being delivered in Schools and Parishes across Australia; the bulk of this work taking place in 13 Schools across the Archdiocese of Sydney, teaching over 1700 students.
Over the past fifteen years, Ronan has spent thousands of hours teaching children and adults to appreciate, understand, and pray the musical tradition of the Church, and to delve further into the Western Classical Music tradition more broadly. With experience in the areas of Theology, Sacred Music and musical pedagogy, Ronan founded Pueri Publications in 2019 in order to provide self taught resources for young children to learn both Gregorian Notation literacy skills and a small repertoire of Chant.
Nina Jurewicz
Co-Founder

Father Henry Whisenant
Illustration Artist
Fr Henry Whisenant is originally from Texas, the son of Catholic converts and the eldest of 7 children. At the age of twelve he moved to England with his family, where they settled in the town of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. After a degree in English Literature at Durham and a voluntary year in a parish in the West End of London, he applied to seminary on behalf of his local diocese of East Anglia, where he has been a priest now for 8 years, though he has also had the opportunity to spend time in communities in Northwest England and Tasmania, Australia. Currently he looks after a Usus Antiquior chaplaincy at St Edmund's, Withermarsh Green in the south of the diocese.
Fr Henry has drawn for as long as he can remember - from dinosaurs and comic strips as a child, to surreptitious doodles in Literary Criticism classes or impatient doodles while at the mercy of automated phone messages. He is glad to put his hand to something of greater importance in this project, and hopes it may further God's glory and edify souls through the beauty of singing.
